This weekend a Mothers worst fear came true. Her 19 year old daughter, Rachel rolled her car and died at 5A.M. Sunday morning. Rachels parents had bought her the car to help her get to her job, while also working on her G.E.D. so she could obtain a medical profession.

  1. I also summarized this story on my blog too! That story is so heartbreaking, and those kind of things happen all too often. I'm wondering if there will be more accidents ending in fatalities as we go through labor day weekend. Anyways, good job!

  3. I hadn't heard this story until your summary. Since moving out of Minnesota, I haven't followed the Star Tribune. But Minnesota will always be my home, so what happens there, especially in a place so close to home (East Bethel is only a few miles from where I grew up), impacts me greatly. This is devastating.

  4. This is so sad. No parent wants to burry their daughter. Did it say that she fell asleep?

  5. It's so sad when this kind of thing happens. She was only 19 and had so much of her life ahead of her. I can't even imagine the pain that her loss must be causing her family.

  7. This story certainly hits home to all of us, but especially to us parents. I think it's a reminder to be thankful for each and everyday with our loved ones. Good choice of story.

  8. Grade: 8/10
    Mistakes
    • Time in AP Style is 5 a.m.
    • Missing possessive on mother's and Rachel's
    • M in mother should not be capitalized because it's not a proper name
